Missing was orginally performed as part of the Lost Theatre Company’s One Act Play Festival 2005 at the Diorama Studio Theatre, London in June 2005. The play was co-written and directed by Kate Plumb and Nina Lemon.

The Concept

Good morning and welcome.  Today our show is all about missing people. That is people who simply disappear and are never found again. But what happens to these missing souls?  Have they experienced a sudden bout of amnesia and have forgotten everyone who is dear to them and even who they are?  Maybe they have been sucked into some supersonic black hole or a parallel universe? Maybe they have quite spontaneously combusted?   (strangely dark) Or perhaps they are the victims of some murderous pervert? Are their bones hidden in some back street lock up?  (Laugh) If you’re the mother of a missing teen you must have asked your self these questions over and over again. You must have tormented yourself with questions. If you are that screwed up mother or maybe you’re a wife whose hubby has done a runner. Perhaps you are that missing relative and you want to get in touch?  If that’s you why not call our hot line.  The number is on the screen now.
