Dorothy's Friends was FOTW's first show. It was developed by writer/co-director Nina Lemon, co-director Kate Plumb and composer Greg Patmore over the course of 18 months. During this period the show grew from a 45 minute scratch performance at The Rose and Crown Theatre in September 2001 to a full scale gender bending musical extravaganza at The Bloomsbury Theatre London and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the summer of 2002.

Once upon a time, Essex boy Dorothy was hiding behind his computer. A cyber whirl wind then ‘Dragged him up’ to the land of Soho. There he realised that he is now a she, adorned with ruby slippers, and she certainly ain’t in Essex anymore
Welcomed by The Sorceress and bondage boys he makes new friends, The Scareho’, the TinWoman and Mr. Lion. Together they embark on a journey to the Wizard’s cyber palace. Hounded by the Thatcherite Wicked Bitch, The Fruitarian Tree Orchard and the Charity Fundraisers from Hell, will Dorothy find the answers on the yellow brick road or is there truly ‘No Place Like Home?’
Fruits of the Womb Theatre Company was created from a shared nightmare that theatre would never change. It was then that Dorothy’s dream began....
